EXECUTIVE SKILLS

How do we meet challenges and accomplish goals?  We use the executive skills that we have been developing since birth.  They include:

  • Response Inhibition
  • Sustained Attention
  • Organization
  • Flexibility
  • Emotional Control
  • Working Memory
  • Task Initiation
  • Time Management
  • Metacognition/ Self-monitoring
  • Planning
  • Following Through

When all of our skills are strong, we can do amazing things!
Many of these skills are not fully developed until the age of 25.
Executive skills can be learned and we can all improve, at any age, through strategies and practice.

LDAY's Laurie Briggs Library has books and resources to build your executive skills.
We also offer Seeing My Time, a time management course for individuals or families.
