Lisa (she/her) moved to Kwanlin (Whitehorse) from Edmonton in 2002. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences and a Master of Science in Rural Sociology from the University of Alberta.

For many years, Lisa designed and carried out land-based research projects in collaboration with communities in the Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut. She also worked as a bird biologist for eight summer seasons across North America’s west. As a result, she loves to help people identify mystery birds. Lisa has volunteered and worked in many roles, including as a piano teacher, retail business owner, sustainable tourism researcher, board member of the Yukon Summer Music Camp Society, and council member for Holy Family Elementary School Council.

Lisa is thrilled to be working as office manager for LDAY, which has provided learning support to members of her family over the years. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys being outside with her two children and two dogs, gardening, sewing, and playing percussion and banjo in the all-women string band The Bennett Sun.
